Great for the price!! : Cuisinart WCH-1500 CleanWater 2-Gallon Countertop Water-Filtration System

It worked fine for the first three weeks. Nice clean water taste, nice cold temperature.

Then it stopped cooling the water.

I called Cuisinart, and they said, oh yes, no question - it happens all the time. The cooling unit has frozen and just needs to thaw. Unplug it and leave it off for several hour to thaw.

Hmmm, I view - it's brand new, and I have to unplug it to work properly? Not a good sign.

Replace it with a new one? Maybe - but that means pack it, pay for the shipping to return and the shipping for the replacement.

Since I unplugged it, the water has been tasting very like plastic. So tonight I called Cuisinart again.

They said, oh yes, no question - it happens all the time. If the water tastes like plastic, just flush the ideas with eight cups of pure lemon juice.

I don't have eight cups of pure lemon juice on hand, so who knows how this will be resolved.

But a word to the wise - if you do buy this lovely device, funds some measure of your time for troubleshooting.
